Zwischen internationalem Wettbewerb und Klimaschutz – die deutsche Industrie

Abstract

Um die deutschen Klimaziele zu erreichen, müssen CO2-Emissionen drastisch sinken - auch in der Industrie. Gleichzeitig soll Produktion in Deutschland gehalten werden. Die deutschen industriellen CO2-Emissionen sind zwischen 2003 und 2017 gestiegen. Woran liegt das? Funktioniert die deutsche Klimapolitik nicht? Die hier zusammengefasste Dissertation zeigt, dass striktere Klimapolitik Industriebetriebe dazu bringen kann, ihre CO2-Emissionen zu senken - ohne negative Auswirkungen auf Wettbewerbsfähigkeit oder eine Verlagerung der Produktion ins Ausland. Die Emissionen sind gestiegen, weil die deutsche Industrie gewachsen ist und die deutsche Klimapolitik im Vergleich zum Rest der Europäischen Union in den letzten Jahren eher weniger konsequent geworden ist. Dies verlangt Anpassungen in der Klimapolitik.
