Weiterentwicklung der Schätzung von Langzeitmigration

Abstract

Seit dem Berichtsjahr 2009 liefert Deutschland jährlich Statistiken zu Immigration und Emigration entsprechend der europäischen Definition des üblichen Aufenthaltsortes an die Europäische Union. Da diese Definition vom nationalen Konzept abweicht, wendet die amtliche Statistik zur Erfüllung der europäischen Lieferverpflichtung ein dafür entwickeltes Aufbereitungs- und Schätzverfahren an. Der Aufsatz beschreibt die Weiterentwicklung dieses Verfahrens mit dem Ziel, Ergebnisse für einzelne Staatsangehörigkeiten, Herkunfts- und Zielländer sowie Geburtsstaaten zur Verfügung zu stellen. Darüber hinaus stellt er Ergebnisse zur Qualität der Schätzergebnisse vor, insbesondere hinsichtlich der Genauigkeit und der Limitationen des genutzten "Rate-ofStay"-Ansatzes.
