Immaterielles Kapital und Produktivität im Verarbeitenden Gewerbe: Ergebnisse auf Basis verknüpfter Einzeldaten (Micro Data Linking)

Abstract

Der Aufsatz untersucht den Einfluss von immateriellem Kapital (Forschung und Entwicklung, Software, Patente) auf die Produktivität am Beispiel des Verarbeitenden Gewerbes in Deutschland. Hierzu werden Einzeldaten der Unternehmensstrukturstatistik verknüpft. Im ersten Schritt wird die Entwicklung der Investitionen in immaterielles Kapital deskriptiv analysiert. Im zweiten Schritt wird die Multifaktorproduktivität mittels Produktionsfunktionen geschätzt und die Ergebnisse verschiedener Modellspezifikationen verglichen. Die Analyse zeigt einerseits, dass immaterielles Kapital positive Effekte auf den Output hat, und andererseits, dass diese Effekte über die Unternehmen hinweg sehr ungleich verteilt sind.
