Industrielle Arbeitskosten im internationalen Vergleich

Abstract

Die Arbeitskosten des westdeutschen Verarbeitenden Gewerbes beliefen sich im Jahr 2010 auf 36,28 Euro je Arbeitnehmerstunde. Damit lag Westdeutschland an sechster Stelle der IW-Arbeitskostenrangliste. Gegenüber dem Durchschnitt der etablierten Industrieländer produzierte die westdeutsche Industrie mit um knapp 25 Prozent höheren Arbeitskosten. Für Deutschland insgesamt fiel der Kostennachteil um 6 Prozentpunkte geringer aus, da das ostdeutsche Kostenniveau mit 21,76 Euro um 40 Prozent unter dem westdeutschen lag. Die Kostendisziplin hat in Deutschland im neuen Jahrtausend deutlich zugenommen. Mit einem jahresdurchschnittlichen Kostenanstieg von 2 Prozent im Zeitraum 2000 bis 2010 wurde das deutsche Verarbeitende Gewerbe von keinem Land aus der Europäischen Union unterboten.
