Produktivität und Lohnstückkosten der Industrie im internationalen Vergleich

Abstract

Im Jahr 2009 stiegen im Verarbeitenden Gewerbe Deutschlands die Lohnstückkosten infolge der globalen Wirtschaftskrise um annähernd 16 Prozent. Dies war im internationalen Vergleich auf Nationalwährungs-Basis gerechnet der höchste Anstieg. Die hierzulande drastisch gestiegenen Lohnstückkosten sind vor allem die Folge der durch die weitgehende Beschäftigungssicherung deutlich gesunkenen Produktivität. Dennoch ist das Produktivitätsniveau in Deutschland weiterhin hoch – die Vergleichsländer haben im Durchschnitt einen Rückstand von 16 Prozent. Deutschland erreicht im Ranking allerdings nur noch Platz acht. Das deutsche Lohnstückkostenniveau wurde im Jahr 2009 nur vom Vereinigten Königreich knapp übertroffen. Die Vergleichsländer haben aber im Durchschnitt ein um 18 Prozent niedrigeres Kostenniveau. Die Quartalsdaten zeigen, dass die Lohnstückkosten in Deutschland durch die Konjunkturerholung wieder deutlich sinken. Gleichwohl ist der Vorkrisenstand noch lange nicht erreicht.
