Konjunktur 1999 und 2000: Rückkehr auf den Aufschwungspfad

Abstract

Der Aufsatz analysiert und prognostiziert die konjunkturelle Entwicklung in Deutschland und im Euroraum in ausführlicher Form für das laufende Jahr 1999 und das Folgejahr 2000. Im Frühjahr 1999 haben sich die Perspektiven der Weltwirtschaft wieder aufgehellt. Auch im Euroraum und in Deutschland mehren sich die Anzeichen, dass der Tiefpunkt der konjunkturellen Delle durchschritten ist und die Wirtschaft auf den eingeschlagenen Aufschwungspfad zurückkehrt. Die konjunkturelle Wende in Deutschland kommt von der Auslandsnachfrage. Als Stütze der Konjunktur erweist sich die Konsumnachfrage der privaten Haushalte. Anregungen kommen aus den Einkommenssteigerungen infolge der höheren Lohnabschlüsse, der Entlastungen bei den direkten Steuern und Beiträgen zur Rentenversicherung, dagegen wirkt die Ökosteuer leicht bremsend. Die wichtigsten Daten der Volkswirtschaftlichen Gesamtrechnung für Deutschland sowie eine Chronologie fiskalischer Maßnahmen seit dem Regierungswechsel sind im Anhang enthalten.
