Gewinne der Industrieunternehmen in Ostdeutschland noch im Aufholprozess

Abstract

Der Beitrag behandelt die Entwicklung der Stückkosten in den Industrieunternehmen Ost- und Westdeutschlands seit Anfang der 90er Jahre. Die ostdeutschen Industrieunternehmen haben bis 2001 die Stückkosten ihrer Produktion fast auf das westdeutsche Niveau senken können. Dies ist nicht zuletzt auf die Entkoppelung der Personalkosten von den Tarifabschlüssen in der zweiten Hälfte der neunziger Jahre zurückzuführen. Die Rendite in den ostdeutschen Industrieunternehmen liegt allerdings weiterhin unter der ihrer westdeutschen Wettbewerber. Maßgeblich hierfür sind die hohen Belastungen aus dem Aufbau des neuen Kapitalstocks. Von daher greift es auch zu kurz, den Lohnfindungsprozess allein auf die Entwicklung der Lohnstückkosten abzustellen.
