Abstract

Der Aufsatz analysiert und prognostiziert die konjunkturelle Entwicklung in Deutschland in ausführlicher Form für das laufende Jahr 1997 und das Folgejahr 1998. Die Aufwärtsbewegung 1997 folgt zögerlich dem sich seit Mitte 1996 abzeichnenden Grundmuster: Kräftige Ausfuhrimpulse treiben die Produktion in Deutschland an. Dagegen belebt sich die Inlandsnachfrage erst wenig. 1998 wird sich die Expansion der gesamtwirtschaftlichen Produktion mit 2,5 % leicht beschleunigen. Die Unternehmensinvestitionen dürften zulegen, nachdem der durch die Exporte ausgelöste Nachfrageschub auch die im heimischen Markt aktiven Produzenten erreicht hat. Eine Wende am Arbeitsmarkt ist erst 1998 zu erwarten, wenn die Produktion im Jahresverlauf an Tempo zulegt.
