Abstract

During the research project on Concepts for customer-related supply management, done between 2013 and 2017, among others, a choice experiment and a customer survey were done in 2015. The recent articel reports the results of those market research projects and compares the results to each other and to recent research and industry literature. So, for example, customers choose means of transport not only based on analysis and factual comparison, but also to a relevant degree on subjective and emotional attitudes. Also, they often judge classical means of transport too positive, if they regulary use it or like it, e.g. the car with combustion engine. They also dislike electric cars more than public transport and don't feel touched by arguments of sustainbility or protection of the environment as much as expected. At the end, conclusions were deriven from the results of both the research and the comparison and some suggestions on practical application of the results are made. So, e.g. there still is a lack of information on electric mobility which means, that customers still have to be informed more on general impacts of traditional means of transport as well as on the benefits of car sharing and electric mobility.
