Abstract

Rezension (Daniel Behruzi, junge Welt, 29.08.2017)Streiks sind ein vergleichsweise intensiv erforschtes soziales Phänomen. Allerdings ist die bisherige Forschung bis auf wenige Ausnahmen geschlechtsblind. Im Mittelpunkt des vorliegenden Beitrags steht daher die Frage, inwiefern Arbeitskämpfe gegendert sind bzw. durch welche Prozesse sie gegendert werden. Vor dem Hintergrund bestehender Überlegungen aus der Soziologie Industrieller Beziehungen, der Streik- und Mobilisierungsforschung sowie der feministischen Theorie und auf der Basis von Dokumentenanalysen und qualitativen Interviews untersucht der Beitrag explorativ einzelne Aspekte der Bedeutung von Gender für das aktuelle Streikgeschehen in unterschiedlichen gesellschaftlichen Kontexten (Deutschland und China). Die ausgewählten empirischen Beispiele, geben Hinweise darauf, wie kollektive Organisierung und Mobilisierung durch (i.d.R. implizit bleibende) Geschlechterkonstruktionen strukturiert wird. Sie verweisen auf einen engen Zusammenhang zwischen Geschlechterarrangements und der Organisation von Arbeitskämpfen.
