Parteienkrise – eine Krise der Demokratie?

Abstract

Erleben wir eine Krise der Demokratie? Ein Blick auf die Parteienlandschaft als zentrales Element der repräsentativen Demokratie offenbart für die deutsche Politik einen tiefgreifenden Wandel: Die ehemals dominierenden Volksparteien CDU/CSU und SPD verlieren seit Jahrzehnten an Rückhalt, während neue Parteien das Spektrum politischer Repräsentation erweitern. Wolfgang Merkel analysiert in seinem Beitrag die daraus resultierenden Herausforderungen für politische Legitimation und Wettbewerbsfähigkeit. Besonders im Fokus steht die Frage, wie demokratische Systeme ihre institutionelle Resilienz gegenüber verfassungsfeindlichen Kräften stärken können, ohne dabei fundamentale Prinzipien wie Pluralismus und Rechtsstaatlichkeit zu gefährden.
