Abstract

Magnetic circular dichroism (MCD) spectra ofCrFe2O4have been measured by using the helicity switching method. The method achieves a high signal-to-noise ratio and resolved the fine structure in these spectra. The theoretical spectra, which were calculated by the charge transfer model, reproduced the experimental spectra. The origin of three negative peaks around theL3edge in Cr2p-MCD is attributed to the$d^4 \underline{L}$electron configuration in the initial state.
