Abstract

Angle-resolved resonant Auger spectra for the transitions Xe$3{\rm d}_{5/2}^{-1}6{\rm p}\to 4{\rm d}^{-2}n{\rm p}$are recorded with optical and electron energy bandwidths smaller than the lifetime widths Γ of the Auger initial and final states. All the multiplet structures are resolved for the ionic core4d-2of the spectator Auger final states and assigned as4d-21S0np,1D2np,1G4np,3P0, 1, 2npand3F1, 2, 3np,n = 6, 7, by comparison with previous measurements and calculations for the corresponding normal Auger emission. The resonant Auger anisotropy parameters obtained from the angular distribution measurements agree well with those expected from the spectator model.
