Abstract

Calculations of specular beam rocking curves are carried out for growing surfaces. The one-dimensional model of the scattering potential is assumed. A contribution from a partially covered layer to the whole crystal scattering potential is taken to be proportional to the coverage of the layer. Surprisingly, for higher glancing angles, results of one-dimensional dynamical calculations show a similarity to those predicted by the kinematical column approximation. An analysis of why this happens has been carried out.
