Abstract
This commentary discusses urban governance for urban resilience in Indonesia in facing the impacts of urbanization, globalization, and climate change. To overcome urban challenges in Indonesia, new and appropriate transformative solutions are needed for urban sustainability by considering problems, disaster characteristics, and the implementation of resilient governance. We argue in this commentary that the path to urban resilience in Indonesia still requires planning, adequate funding, active participation, collaboration, coordination, and cooperation by various sectors and actors. This short commentary helps provide references and learning materials for solving urban issues and a path to realizing urban resilience in Indonesia. In addition, this commentary enriches the discourse on challenges and opportunities in managing sustainability and preparing resilience in urban environments. It provides valuable insights into the relationship between resilience and sustainability in the urban governance literature.
