Systems and software development leadership: A practical improvement approach

Abstract

With software playing an ever more important role in the performance of products and systems, an effective approach to software development is critically needed. This paper suggests an approach to the leadership of large software projects. This approach has proven effective in several environments. The approach addresses both the short‐term (fire drill) problems as well as long‐term systematic improvements. © 1998 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. Syst Eng 1: 44‐56, 1998
