Sustainable Agriculture Development in Rural Regions: The Combination of Green Innovation, Green Supply Chains, and Farmer Education

Abstract

The synergistic combination of green innovation and digitalization is becoming essential in sustainable agriculture in rural areas. Digital economy streamlines operations by automation and data‐driven insights, whereas green innovation presents practices that lessen the use of resources and govern emissions. In its current form, this study assumes the existence of a distinct framework, which includes green innovation adoption (GIA), green supply chain efficiency (GSCE), and farmer education as essential elements in attaining this goal. The research explores the indirect development of sustainability by digital technology by considering both survey data with a sample of 466 farmers in Zengcheng, Guangzhou, China, and supporting both off‐farm GSCE and on‐farm GIA. What is more important, farmer education and skills moderate the effects of technology by enhancing the relationships. Our findings are not limited to the linear models and show that it comprises a coherent socio‐technical system that allows policymakers to coordinate the formation of logistical, human, and technological capital in accordance with SDG‐based rural revitalization and the theory of digital transformation.
