Chinese geocryology at the turn of the twentieth century

Abstract

During the past four decades, progress in geocryology in China has gone from zero to an advanced stage. Currently, the interactions between the cryosphere and climate are of great concern. Studies on the water resources of cold regions, and cold regions engineering under a warming climate, are critically important to sustainable development of China's regional economy and its ecosystems. Actuellement, les interactions entre la cryosphère et le climat suscitent un grand intérêt. Les études concernant les conséquences d'un réchauffement climatique sur les ressources en eaux des régions froides, et celles qui concernent les problèmes de l'ingénieur sont extrêmement importantes dans le cadre du développement continu de l'économie régionale de la Chine et de ses écosystèmes.
