Verliert die Industrie in Europa an Bedeutung?

Abstract

Der Beitrag zeigt, dass sich die Industrie in Europa strukturell verändert, ohne dabei grundsätzlich an Bedeutung zu verlieren. Zwar ist die Produktion im verarbeitenden Gewerbe in einigen EU-Mitgliedstaaten in den vergangenen zehn Jahren gesunken. Gleichzeitig konnte jedoch in den meisten Ländern die Bruttowertschöpfung zunehmen, was wohl unter anderem auf neue hybride Geschäftsmodelle zurückzuführen ist. Insgesamt blieb der reale Wertschöpfungsanteil des verarbeitenden Gewerbes der EU zwischen 2015 und 2024 weitgehend unverändert. Eine Deindustrialisierung ist derzeit nicht erkennbar.
