Abstract
The industry for healthcare is passing through a pivot as digital innovations are reshaping patient care delivery, operations management, and economic sustainability. Technologies like AI-powered diagnostic tools, telemedicine, wearables & remote monitoring are high value tools in managing chronic conditions - all with a reduced cost while optimizing available resources. However, it isn’t direct to recognize the economic benefits of these solutions due to complex challenges that needs further assessment. This research digs into how digital health adoption affects healthcare economics, looking at these technologies’ efficiency, outcome, and business success. Using Romania’s healthcare system as example to show both opportunities and obstacles in digital healthcare. We’ve found that digital health tools make real difference - decreased costs, resources utilization, and improve outcomes, which all adds to healthcare sustainability. Romania faces some serious challenges: outdated technology infrastructure, tight budgets, data security concerns, and complicated rules and regulations. In addition, there’s an equity gap between what’s available in cities versus rural areas in terms of digital access & equity. Getting past these hurdles means making smart investments, overhauling policies where needed, and building stronger partnerships between government and private companies - all working together to speed up digital healthcare implementation. Outcomes give healthcare policymakers, business leaders, and investors a practical roadmap for getting the most out of digital health while tackling the barriers head-on. If Romania can put the right reforms in place, there’s real potential to make healthcare more sustainable, use resources better, and create economic growth through smart digital changes.
