Contemporary Issues In The Development Of Retail Trade

Abstract

The objective of the present work is to generalize and systematize the results of carrying outretailing both internationally and nationally, to identify the main trends, factors and issues in itsdevelopment and discuss the prospects and challenges to retailers in the light of the present-day changes in the environment of trading business. With regard to this there is studied the state and development of global retail trade with the help of appropriate quantitative indicators and adequate quality analysis. The emphasis is on the principal trends and structural changes in global retail trade, and there are clarified the main factors, issues and challenges in its development. Special place is reserved to the prerequisites and conditions for the development of modern retail trade in Bulgaria. There is made a generalization and systematization of the main trends and prospects in its development, taking into consideration the influence of the globalfinancial and economic crisis.The study has a distinct scientific and applied character and in it there is expressed the opinionthat in the modern conditions retail trade is one of the most dynamically advancing sectors of the economy and it is undergoing fundamental changes, which calls for relevant response on the part ofretailers.
