Ecological potential of best avaliable technologies

Abstract

The paper presents results of research related to the evaluation of the effectiveness of cleaner production (CP) based on the application of best available technology (BAT), made for nonferrous-metals industry of the Ural region. The advantages of the introduction of BAT are considered, the need to establish the indicator «suitable environmental quality», with which technology can be identified as BAT is specified. Indicators used in determining the efficiency of production are analyzed, and a system of indicators to measure the parameters of clean production, confirming and evaluating the effect of increases in efficiency has been proposed. Additionally, it is proposed to include in the system of target indicators for an assessment of productivity of accepted strategic decisions on enterprise development, options, which are designed according to the criterion of «clean technologies», and reflect the company goal to achieve economic growth.
