Abstract

Dans son dernier livre, The Euro – How a Common Currency Threatens the Future of Europe (Norton, August 2016) [10], Joseph Stiglitz ausculte l’euro avec l’appareillage analytique d’un keynésien engagé. Il faut l’écouter pour sa clarté pédagogique et son diagnostic au scalpel. Ses propositions sont radicales, soit on change vraiment la donne, soit on abandonne une partie trop mal engagée. Ce livre est sans concessions. Mais son regard d’outre atlantique minimise sans doute le poids de l’histoire européenne et les risques politiques liés à l’éclatement de la zone euro.
