Développement durable ou décroissance ? Repenser l’économie à partir du souci du bien être des générations futures

Abstract

Le concept de « développement durable » est devenu l’un des lieux communs de la pensée politique et économique. On peut s’interroger sur la fortune de cette expression paradoxale, et se demander s’il ne conviendrait pas plutôt d’envisager une décroissance maîtrisée, susceptible d’assurer le bien-être des générations futures. Cette posture s’avère d’autant plus hétérodoxe, si ce n’est provocatrice, qu’elle se propose de repenser l’économie sur la base de considérations existentielles, et même spirituelles.
