Elargissement de l’UE et CEFTA : recomposition d’une zone de libre échange dans les Balkans

Abstract

Les deux derniers élargissements de l’UE ont fait évoluer la zone de libre échange CEFTA en une zone de libre échange balkanique liant les anciennes républiques de l’ex-Yougoslavie (Slovénie exceptée) à l’Albanie et la Moldavie. Le nouvel accord CEFTA signé à Bucarest en décembre 2006 remplace ainsi un réseau de 32 accords bilatéraux de libre échange développé entre les entités de cette zone depuis 1999. L’article propose de retracer l’évolution de l’accord CEFTA vers sa reconfiguration aux Balkans dans un contexte où l’UE montre aujourd’hui des signes d’hésitation dans son processus d’élargissement.
