Abstract

The socioeconomic conditions of the Esmeralda province in Ecuador and the necessity of their transformation starting from their local productive forms have been the main motivations for this investigation; having as an aim to detect the presence and characteristics of local productive arrangements in the city of Esmeralda. For this reason, a quantitative methodology was selected as a primary tool, demonstrating numeric data recovered from the processing of surveys that are also presented with the help of statistic tools. The study allowed to identify the presence of these structures within the city, while also showing that the previously mentioned form part of an incipient systemic organization situated between microenterprises that need the support of various institutions, this is of course stated after taking into account the potential that these productive improvements will bring for the region.
