Abstract

The development of the tourism sector represents an important contribution to the World Economy. However, during the last decades this sector has faced some setbacks for different reasons: wars, terrorism, global political conflicts, and natural disasters. The main purpose of this paper is to analyze the impact of some of these phenomena on tourism. The evidence presented in this work points out the negative aspects that have reduced tourism activities around the world, their subsequent impacts on different sectors of the economies, the resulting fall in earnings and their general impact on the economy.
