Abstract

El presente artículo trata un tema controversial dentro de la teoría económica: La Hipótesis de las Expectativas Racionales (H.E.R.). Este planteamiento constituye un desafío a los principios keynesianos y un fuerte cuestionamiento a la validez de las políticas que normalmente tratan de utilizarse para lograr la estabilidad de la economía de un país. La H.E.R. supone la maximización de la racionalidad individual y la eficiencia de los mercados competitivos en la asignación de bienes, recursos e información. Se sugiere entonces que no deben emplearse políticas activas de estabilización, ya que los agentes económicos neutralizan cualquier acción. En el trabajo, también se presentan al lector, las objeciones y críticas ante la posición más estricta de Expectativas Racionales. Ello origina una nueva alternativa: las expectativas razonables.
