Abstract

Theoretical backgrounds of separation, identification and structuring of the production potential of rural territories are formed in this paper. They are based on multifunctionality of lands according to their intended purpose. The features of the formation of the modern system of State Land Cadastre on the European bases, as the official information base are described. This information base allows showing the multifunctionality of the particular rural area as the structure of categories of land and farmland according to the localized economic activity within the administrative and territorial unit. On the basis of the data of the State Land Cadastre it is developed and tested an algorithm of evaluating the production potential of rural areas in the field of agricultural activity and comparative evaluation of effectiveness of its usage in the regions of the state. It is found that the apparent leaders in the use of production potential in the field of agricultural activities are areas that have the lowest values of it. They are Ivano-Frankivsk, L'viv, Chernivtsi and Ternopil regions.
