Abstract

Purpose – This research aims to analyze the relationship between hydroelectricity energy consumption, CO2 emissions, and gross domestic product in four ASEAN countries (Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines and Thailand) in the period 1988-2018.Methods – The method used in this research is the Panel Vector Error Correction Model (PVECM).Findings – The findings show that there is a long-term and short-term relationship between Gross Domestic Product (GDP). In addition, there is a one-way causality between the variables Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and CO2 Emissions, CO2 Emissions and hydroelectricity, and between Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and hydroelectricity.Implication – Application of the hydroelectricity method as a more environmentally friendly use of energy and playing a role in efforts to reduce global warming.Originality – This research contributes to renewable energy policy. AbstrakTujuan –.
