Analisis penyerapan tenaga kerja sektor industri di Provinsi Banten

Abstract

Purpose – to analyze the effect of the number of large and medium industrial companies, district/city minimum wages, Gross Regional Domestic Product (PDRB) growth rates and the number of labor force on the absorption of labor in Banten Province.Methods – This study uses panel data for the 2014-2019 period in 17 (seventeen) distric/city in Banten Province.Findings – The results showed that the number of large and medium industrial companies and the number of workforce had a positive effect on employment in Banten Province, while district/city minimum wages and PDRB growth rates had no effect on employment in Banten Province.Implication – The government needs to review the PDRB growth rateis it only supported by household consumption, so that the economic vulnerability in facing extraordinary conditions is also low. Regency/city minimum wages need to be reconsidered in order to encourage employment so as to improve the standard of living and welfare of employees and their families.Originality – This study focuses on the factors that influence employment in Banten Province AbstrakTujuan – Untuk menganalisis pengaruh jumlah perusahaan industri besar dan sedang, upah minimum kabupaten/kota (UMK), laju pertumbuhan Produk Domestik Regional Bruto (PDRB) dan jumlah angkatan kerja terhadap penyerapan tenaga kerja di Provinsi BantenMetode – Penelitian ini menggunakan data panel periode 2014-2019 di 17 (tujuh belas) kabupaten/kota di Provinsi Banten. Temuan – Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa jumlah perusahaan industri besar dan sedang serta angkatan kerja berpengaruh positif terhadap penyerapan tenaga kerja di Provinsi Banten, sedangkan upah minimum kabupaten/kota dan laju pertumbuhan PDRB tidak berpengaruh terhadap penyerapan tenaga kerja di Provinsi Banten. Penyerapan tenaga kerja tertinggi dimiliki Kota Tangerang, sedangkan penyerapan tenaga kerja terendah dimiliki Kabupaten Lebak. Implikasi – Pemerintah perlu meninjau kembali laju pertumbuhan PDRB apakah hanya disokong oleh konsumsi rumah tangga, sehingga kerentanan ekonomi dalam menghadapi kondisi ektraordinary juga rendah. Upah minimum kabupaten/kota perlu dipertimbangkan kembali agar dapat mendorong penyerapan tenaga kerja sehingga dapat meningkatkan taraf hidup dan kesejahteraan para karyawan dan keluarganya. Orisinalitas – Studi ini berfokus pada faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi penyerapan tenaga kerja di Provinsi Banten.
