Un ejercicio sobre la velocidad de circulación del dinero

Abstract

Estas notas se originaron en un intento por estimar los cambios probables en la velocidad de circulación del dinero para 1975 y 1976. El ejercicio se realizó con los antecedentes disponibles a mediados de 1975, razón por la cual pudieran aparecer como incompletos a la luz de nuevos antecedentes. Sobre lo realizado en tal fecha solamente se agregó la información correspondiente al tercer trimestre de 1975. En primer lugar, hay que señalar que a tal fecha se planteaba con mucha insistencia y sin mayor análisis que aparentemente había un divorcio entre la teoría monetaria y la realidad, que, se aducía, pese a que se estaba en un período de astringencia monetaria, que los precios estaban creciendo a tasas superiores que las del dinero.
