Abstract

Las Cajas de Ahorros tienen cada vez mayor interés en las cuestiones sociales, como reflejo de un compromiso empresarial para satisfacer la demanda de la sociedad. Nuestro objetivo es conocer la importancia que tiene la RSE (Responsabilidad Social Empresarial) para las Cajas de Ahorros y las acciones que llevan a cabo para fomentarla. Para ello partimos de la hipótesis de que son estas entidades las que más recursos destinan a la sociedad. El trabajo de campo se realizó a través de una encuesta contestada por 57 entidades de crédito españolas. Observamos que la RSE es un movimiento en expansión con un enorme potencial, debido al papel de intermediación financiera y de concesión de créditos que desarrollan las Cajas. Finalmente resulta curioso ver cómo se materializan las aportaciones sociales de forma correlacionada.
