Abstract

El artículo informa del episodio sufrido por Silicon Valley Bank y los impactos sistémicos que generó el sistema bancario mundial. Se analizan los cambios de la regulación de los bancos comerciales en la normativa denominada Basilea III, a raíz de la gran crisis financiera y las dificultades existentes para la medición de los riesgos que están expuestos los bancos, especialmente en el caso de los riesgos de crédito y de liquidez. Finalmente, se pone el acento en la importancia de la supervisión y en sus grandes dificultades, teniendo en cuenta no sólo las dificultades teóricas sino las dificultades políticas.
