¿Es Europa estratégicamente autónoma en defensa?

Abstract

Este artículo analiza si Europa dispone de las instituciones, los recursos, los medios y las infraestructuras para ser autónoma en la ejecución de las misiones militares destinadas a proporcionar seguridad y defensa. En particular, se examinan los aspectos clave relacionados con la obtención de capacidades militares, la generación de fuerzas para realizar dichas misiones y las capacidades tecnológicas e industriales para suministrar los medios que requieren esas capacidades, sin tener que depender para ello de otras naciones, en especial de los EE.UU. El análisis sugiere que a Europa le queda un largo y tortuoso camino para alcanzar dicha autonomía.
