Midiendo el Sentimiento del Ciclo Económico Nacional a través de los pronunciamientos del Banxico

Abstract

Se elabora un indicador de confianza con los anuncios de política monetaria de Banco de México (Banxico) para revisar el comportamiento del ciclo económico contemporáneo. La metodología consiste en identificar los enunciados que hacen los miembros de la junta de gobierno del banco central en relación a su evaluación del ritmo de la actividad económica reciente y se transforman en un índice. Los resultados muestran un indicador cíclico con respecto a la trayectoria de la economía en el período enero 2003-enero 2011, por lo que puede ser usado en el análisis oportuno de la situación económica del país dado el rezago de la publicación de indicadores que describen la evolución del ciclo tal como el Producto Interno Bruto
