Speaking Stata: Species of origin

Abstract

Counting and measurement scales often have natural origins that deserve respect in analysis. In other problems, we should feel free to shift or translate the origin or to rotate a periodic scale. Examples with environmental data focus on trends in time and seasonal cycles. Several small tips are bundled together on working with noncalendar years in Stata. Copyright 2015 by StataCorp LP.
