Abstract

This paper provides a comparative analysis of the “Cradle to Grave” concept, which represents a linear productlife cycle approach, and the “Cradle to Cradle” concept, an innovative model within the circular economy framework.The study examines their philosophical foundations, approaches to resource use, waste management principles, designstrategies, innovation potential, and alignment with sustainable development goals. The findings indicate that while the“Cradle to Grave” model focuses on minimizing negative environmental impacts, the “Cradle to Cradle” concept aims tocreate regenerative systems where waste is eliminated and materials continuously circulate within closed-loop systems
