Initial research: are the current researched early warning indicators significant in identifying banking crises?

Abstract

This paper proposes an empirical methodology to evaluate the current leading Early Warning Indicators (EWIs)of banking indicators and proposes any additional indicators that should be used by policymakers to forecast any criseswithin the banking industry. For this purpose, using a pooled logistic regression model to illustrate the accuracy of the fivechosen indicators of a banking crises is recommended.
