Abstract
The transition towards a green economy has become imperative in addressing global environmental challenges.Higher education institutions play a crucial role in facilitating this transition by integrating sustainable practicesinto their curricula and fostering the development of skills necessary for a green economy. However, there is a need fora comprehensive understanding of how higher education institutions contribute to this process. This study employs asystematic analysis to explore the role of higher education in fostering the green economy transition through curriculumintegration and skill development. By examining a range of academic disciplines and programs, this research investigatesthe extent to which sustainability concepts are incorporated into higher education curricula and the effectiveness of skilldevelopment initiatives. The findings reveal the current status and gaps in curriculum integration and skill development,highlighting opportunities for improvement. The study also identifies key factors that facilitate or hinder the integration ofsustainability into higher education curricula and the development of green skills. This research contributes to the growingbody of knowledge on the role of higher education in fostering the green economy transition and provides insights forpolicymakers, educators, and institutions seeking to enhance sustainability education and prepare future professionalsfor a green economy.
