Abstract

In the last 10 years, there was a rapid development in wireless networks and mobile communications. The continuous need for resources, particularly in terms of multimedia data encouraged developing 3G as well as 4G wireless networks. Yet, an adequate satisfaction cannot be fulfilled via the achievements in technological advancements. Thus, the 5G networks which are representing networks beyond the 4G ones is of high importance. Also, the 5G networks were developed due to the many issues encountering the 4G networks, like requiring high data rates and capacity low-costs, huge inter device connectivity and low end-to-end latency. A thorough analysis regarding the next-generation or future networks of information systems discussing the associated standardization and forums is extremely challenging. The many technologies for networking and next generation mobile systems were studied. In the presented study, an architecture of 5G cellular network is suggested and indicates that D2D, network clouds, small cell access points, and IoT might be part of the cellular network model of the 5G. A thorough survey was included in the presented study carried out in many nations via institutions and research groups which were working on the 5G technologies.
