Abstract
. Bahay Pag- Asa is a family- oriented facility which offers various programs in order to help its residents to achieve restorative justice and successful reintegration. Most studies acknowledge the programs’ effectiveness, and challenges, but what about the program itself? Thus, there is a need to explore the livelihood programs implemented at Bahay Pag-Asa through its care staff particularly focusing on its structure, delivery mechanisms, overall rehabilitative goals. This study utilized a qualitative approach specifically qualitative descriptive design. Structured interviews were conducted to five (5) care staff. Participants positively identified various livelihoods practiced in the center that are according to standard procedures, and the activities’ accessibility. They also give livelihood shares based on the efforts and labors of the residents. At the same time, they shared successful stories of how these programs made positive impacts to the residents. However, challenges were noted such as funding shortfalls, marketing constraints, and postponement of some activities for a while. Residents have diverse personalities and interests which also is one challenge encountered by the participants. Overall, this led to activity freeze affecting the livelihood program sustainability. In conclusion, intentional improvements are crucial for the rehabilitation of the residents through livelihood programs. The institution should consider acquiring basic skills for the fundings of the programs, and how will it revolve for future implementations. Care staff are essential in the facilitation and delivery, as well as the management of livelihood shares. Recommendations include having close connections with external partners for possible workshops like skill building, and funds management. Moreover, opportunities may arise through coordination. These are essential so that Bahay Pag-asa will remain a rehabilitation environment ensuring long- term success for both the institution and its residents.
