Abstract

The application of the concept of “lignocellulosic material biorefinery” has a significant impact on the production of cellulose pulp and paper, as well as other derivatives, which are referred to in the literature as “The tree biorefinery”. This biorefinery process primarily seeks to significantly reduce energy consumption in the pulp and paper industry, as this results in other operational advantages. Biotechnological processes, such as enzymatic ones, are a proposal to reduce energy consumption, improve product quality, and substantially reduce pollution from chemical reagents traditionally used in this industry. This work aims to establish the appropriate conditions for biorefinery of lignocellulosic material through the use of enzymes for cost optimization and environmental pollution in the industrial manufacture of paper for domestic and office use.
