The Development Level Of The Insurance Market In The Eu

Abstract

At present, insurance has become an important sector of the national economy. The percentage of insurance penetration rate in GDP can reach up to 13% and is generally much higher as the country reached a higher level of economic development, for example, the average of this indicator in the EU-27 in year 2009 was 8,5%, while in Romania it is 1,5%, this figure shows that there is a large untapped potential in the insurance market.
