Abstract

The problems of stability and stabilisation for switched systems with two subsystems are investigated in both nonlinear and linear cases. By proposing an improved average dwell time (ADT) scheme, some new stability conditions for the considered system are given. Those new conditions are more practical in practice than the existing ones with given conditions, and both mode-dependent ADT (MDADT) scheme and classical ADT scheme can be regarded as some special cases of the new scheme of this paper. Finally, a numerical example with comparisons to the previous results is included to show the validity of the developed techniques.
