Abstract

In this article an analytical model is proposed to compute the resonant frequency, quality factor, bandwidth, gain and input impedance of a co-axial probe-fed equilateral triangular patch antenna, covered with several dielectric layers. This model is very simple and fast and directly applied to the CAD programs. The computed values, employing the present model, are compared with simulation and new experimental results for various sets of relative permittivity and thickness of different multilayered structures. The present model shows excellent agreement with simulation and experimental result for a wide variation of thickness and permittivity of multi-dielectric structure. We have also measured the radiation patterns of triangular patch antenna with different multilayered structure.
