Abstract

We solved the problem of Floquet-Bloch waves propagation in the one-dimensional gyrotropic magnetophotonic crystal with transverse magnetic field. New fundamental solutions of the Hill’s equation in crystal layers based on the Floquet theory for a third boundary value problem are obtained in the analytical form. The dispersion equation is found through fundamental solutions. The analysis of the dispersion properties of the structures depending on the material parameters was carried out and extraordinary surface waves inherent only in gyrotropic magnetophotonic crystals have been discovered.
