Abstract

The article considers the algorithm for calculating characteristics of fields of hybrid types of waves in waveguides with complex cross sections. The presented algorithm takes into account the singularities of the components of the electromagnetic field near the dielectric and metal edges of the waveguide. The calculation results of electrodynamic characteristics of hybrid HE- and EH- waves propagating in the single-ridged waveguide with layered and piecewise-layered lossy dielectric filling are presented. Cutoff frequencies of hybrid waves are shown in tables and the structures of electromagnetic fields of hybrid types of waves are visualized. A comparative analysis of the results obtained by the presented method and the numerical methods is carried out.
