A novel ADI iterative algorithm for efficient 3-D WLP-FDTD method

Abstract

In this letter, a novel alternating direction implicit (ADI) iterative algorithm for efficient 3-D weighted Laguerre polynomials finite-difference time-domain (WLP-FDTD) method is proposed. Using this approach, the Gauss–Seidel method can be applied in the whole iterative procedure, instead only the first step in the efficient WLP-FDTD. A correction item Ex∗$ E_{x}^{ * } $ is added to speed up the convergence. The proposed method is based on the iterative algorithm for linear equations, which makes it more flexible. Numerical examples are given to demonstrate the computation accuracy and efficiency of the proposed method.
