Rejoinder to Hodgson

Author

Listed:
  • Howard Sherman

Abstract

Hodgson's critiques of Marxism are irrelevant to most contemporary Marxists because they are not economic reductionists, do not believe in just two classes locked in continuous battle, and do not have a teleological view of history. Hodgson's biological metaphor is very useful for the Marxist view of social evolution as a set of relevant questions to be asked.
